For those of you that don't know me, I am DawnElizabeth Both. I've lived in the Olean area for coming up to 24 years. I am wife to Tom, and mom to MacKenzie, Corie and Jesse. MacKenzie and Corie are in college (Daemen in the Physician Assistant Program and Rochester Institute of Technology/Co-op in Canton Ohio). Jesse is a junior at Olean High.
- I was the organist/music director at Transfiguration Catholic Church until they closed. Then I played at Bethel Lutheran (and subbed at Bethany Lutheran).
- My family belongs to Believers Chapel in Allegany and if you see me running out the door after the 11:30am mass - that's where I'm going, but I will ALWAYS stop and chat if you want to.
- I have a music ministry that takes me to nursing and retirement homes in the local area, Buffalo and Rochester NY, and Bradford PA. I have been doing that for 26 years.
- I was in a rock band, but we don't need to talk about that! :)
- I taught Music at Southern Tier Catholic School until the girls and then boy were born and then returned for a year when my kids were in 3rd grade and Pre-K.
Things have changed, but they stayed the same. It's amazing how muscle memory kicks right in. Learning some new music has been awesome...actually loving some of the newer, fresh tunes.
I love playing the organ and piano although my fit-bit told me I did 18 flights of stairs last Sunday. It's quite the feet especially because I am sort of nursing a bum ankle at the moment, but I press on and move swiftly from the organ to the piano. By the way, can't wait until all the organ renovations will be complete.
As I get rolling along and more comfortable with the setup and routine, I will begin looking into getting a choir re-formed. Right now I'm just getting used to working with Cantors on the weekends.
I think that's about it. If you have any questions or want to say HI, don't be shy. Stop up to the loft or at the piano. I'm always happy to chat (for those that know me - you know how true this is).
