The public is invited to this special HISTORIC tour with descendants of Rev. Pamphilo da Magliano's family from Italy. Their ancestor is the Franciscan friar who named the first Catholic church in Olean (on our very lot), St. Mary of the Angels. He built our first church in 1860. This was replaced by our present building in 1915, but his legacy remains, including the name, of course. This historic tour with these Italian descendants will highlight Fr. Pamphilo's connection to our art, architecture and history. You can read all about his 12 years of ministry with us (while he also served as president of St. Bonaventure University) in our fascinating history book that details our parish origins through 1956.
